It was a user by the name of CurtisR on the Overclockers forums who deserves the credit! Why would any interstellar starship still bother with streamline body design? Since they get a ton of use, especially with devices like this, wear can occur and there might be a broken solder connection, or bent pin, that isn't connecting reliably and I guess it's possible, but for most people it's a wear-and-tear issue.

Just my guess. To verify it is not a BUTTON HARDWARE issue: swap the mouse buttons in the driver (most software have an option for this, for left handed users). Switching off the ''Enhance Pointer Position'' in the mouse section of Control Panel seemed to fix this problem for me. Your USB receiver for the mouse might be malfunctioning.
