This can be problematic in some circumstances as it takes some time to leave sleep mode and become available. Intel Rapid Storage Technology I do not think, that it is a problem caused by hardware. and would cause a delay when re-access.

If a secondary drive disappears it just becomes unavailable.Try the hotfix I say.
